A2K is pleased to announce the completion of the Memory Care
Addition to Crestridge Assisted Living in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. The
“centralized design” incorporates 17 new private studios with private baths
surrounded by an activity/living hub. It is our belief that the best
memory care design principle is to have engaging activity in the center of the
building for a “centralized design”. Through our evidence based design
experience we have learned that this “centralized design” principle in memory
care helps to bring the residents together in their day to day living and also
create a sense of safety and comfort for the resident. We have concluded
that internalized designs lessen the stimulation present from the exterior
environment and allow residents to focus more on activities and human
interaction. This in turn lowers the behavioral impact on the
resident and aids the staff. Furthermore, the centralized memory
care concept ensures efficient sight lines for staff to monitor
residents. These designs tend to be highly efficient plans that also have
the added benefit of lowered construction costs.

Timmerman Commons
Timmerman Commons is a strip mall located at the North end
of Timmerman airport on Silver Spring Dr. The project updates the exterior of a
1980’s building, bringing it in line with some of the newer construction in the
area. Roof over hangs were cut back and wall surfaces were increased to allow
the building signage to fit more comfortably with a less cluttered look. The
design takes its cues from 1920’s aviation motifs. With the use of a bold color
pallet, the building takes on a new prominence on Silver
Spring Dr.
